Professor Sean Tu’s article, Differential Legal Protections for Biologics vs Small-Molecule Drugs in the US (with Olivier J. Wouters, Matthew Vogel, William B. Feldman, Reed F. Beall, and Aaron S. Kesselheim), was selected by AcademyHealth as the recipient of the 2025 Publication of the Year Award. According to AcademyHealth, the award “recognizes the best and most relevant, scientific work in the fields of health services research and health policy.”
The article addresses the question of whether biologics, which the pharmaceutical industry says require more time and resources to develop, deserve a longer duration of protection from competition.
