Professor Fred Vars has published a new op-ed in the Washington Post with Ian Ayres (Yale Law School) about Hallie Biden’s actions upon finding Hunter Biden’s gun – throwing it in a dumpster – and the potential of her facing criminal charges for her actions while Hunter Biden has been pardoned by President Joe Biden. They argue that there should be a way for private citizens to remove guns safely from others who pose a credible threat. Vars and Ayres also published the book Weapon of Choice: Fighting Gun Violence While Respecting Gun Rights (2020) through Harvard University Press.
