Carol Andrews

Professor Emerita of Law

Professor Andrews received her B.S. degree with high honors from the University of Illinois in 1980. Three years later, she received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and worked as an associate editor of the Illinois Law Review. She was an attorney with the Chicago law firm of Kirkland & Ellis for nine years. She specialized in civil litigation and became a partner in the firm in 1989. From 1993 to 1995, Professor Andrews was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Illinois, where she taught in the areas of civil litigation and professional responsibility. She joined The University of Alabama School of Law faculty in 1995 as an assistant professor and was named an associate professor in 1998 and a professor of law in 2001. She taught Civil Procedure, Advanced Civil Procedure, Legal Profession, and Conflicts of Law.

Professor Andrews is a previous recipient of UA’s annual Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Award.
