Andrea Early is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving as an embedded therapist in the School of Law. Prior to joining The University of Alabama’s Counseling Center as a staff therapist, Andrea worked for nine years at the Camellia Center, where she provided therapy to students, faculty, and staff. She has experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence, veteran populations, community mental health, and substance abuse treatment.
A Birmingham native, Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from The University of Alabama and a Master of Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University. She has served as a supervisor for bachelor’s- and master’s-level social work students and as an adjunct professor in the University’s School of Social Work.
Andrea is actively involved on campus as a member of the Black Faculty and Staff Association and as a mentor with Legacy Scholars, an organization dedicated to supporting first-generation students. In addition, Andrea has served as a medical officer for 14 years in the United States Army Reserves and currently holds the rank of Major.
