Kara Deal Gamble

Assistant Professor of Legal Writing

 

Professor Gamble joined the law school legal writing faculty in 2020. She teaches Legal Writing to first-year students.

Before joining the faculty, Professor Gamble worked for a boutique civil litigation defense firm in Birmingham for three years. She defended clients in employment and consumer-protection litigation and represented a large US bank in financial services litigation. During her law practice, she served as Associate Editor of an employment law treatise, Age Discrimination in Employment Law.

Prior to law practice, Professor Gamble clerked for the Honorable Susan L. Kelsey of the Florida First District Court of Appeal and served as a staff attorney for the Supreme Court of Alabama. Professor Gamble graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law where she was Acquisitions Editor of the Alabama Law Review and participated in the law school’s clinical law program. She received a B.S. from Liberty University where she graduated summa cum laude. Between her undergraduate and legal education, she spent a year teaching math-in-English to students in Zarqa, Jordan.

Professor Gamble serves as an officer in the Women’s Section of the Birmingham Bar Association.
