Alabama Law student celebrates with diploma in the air after graduation.

The National Jurist ranked University of Alabama School of Law the #5 Best Value Public Law School in the U.S. (2025), giving it an A+ rating based on employment outcomes, first-time bar passage rates, student tuition, and cost of living expenses.

This ranking aligns with other reports that recognize the University of top-tier law school that offers a high ROI. In 2025, U.S. News & World Report named Alabama Law among the Best Law Schools for Paying Off Student Debt based on salary-to-debt ratios. In the same year, U.S. News ranked Alabama Law #12 among all ABA accredited public law schools and #5 (public) for federal clerkships placements.

Whether arguing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit or excelling in international negotiation competitions, Alabama Law students gain both hands-on experience and strong theoretical foundations, preparing them to become successful attorneys and leaders on the global stage.

In September 2025, Mortgage Research Network came out with a new report identifying Tuscaloosa as one of the best locations for students to purchase a home—opening potential avenues for law students to not only save money on rent, but also build equity while in school.
