Welcome to the AI Legal Studies (AILS), an initiative led by Professor Yonathan Arbel. AILS organizes research, pedagogy, and deeper understanding of AI systems and their impact on the legal system. Beyond general questions on the law and AI, AILS focuses on the emerging area of AI safety—the quest to ensure that future AI systems are deployed in a safe, responsible, and equitable manner.

  1. Systemic Regulation of Artificial Intelligence – AI Safety Legal Paper Series 12-24, Arizona State Law Journal, Forthcoming. This work co-authored with Matthew Tokson and Albert Lin proposes comprehensive frameworks for AI regulation.
