Appellate Advocacy Clinic

LAW 893 | 2-4 Hours  | Special Topics Course

In the Appellate Advocacy Clinic, law student interns litigate appeals in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, handling all facets of the process—from intake through mediation, briefing, and argument. First time clinic participants must take both the 4-hour casework section and the 2-hour class section. Returning students can only take the 4-hour casework section. This course is classified as experiential. Students are only allowed to enroll in this course with approval from the Clinic Director. This course includes discussion about the development of a professional identity. This course includes material on bias, cross-cultural competency, and racism.
