In Memory of Harry Hopkins

Portrait of Harry HopkinsHarry Hopkins, a beloved former professor at Alabama Law, passed away on September 24, 2024. He taught and mentored students from 1979-2014, serving as a faculty member then later as an adjunct professor after his retirement. His experience in labor and employment law at Lange, Simpson, Robinson, and Somerville and Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak, and Stewart, both in Birmingham, gave him a wealth of knowledge to draw on when educating the future lawyers of Alabama.

Hopkins was a great mentor and educator. He dedicated much of his life and career to giving back to the community, and he will be missed greatly.
